Summer camp, retreats and events, plus recreational vehicle (RV) and tent camping — Michigan Area United Methodist Camping has it all. Enjoy the glory of God’s creation in safe, clean, beautiful facilities in lower Michigan: relax under the tall trees and cool breezes at Wesley Woods (Dowling, MI). Summer Camp

The summer camp programs of the Michigan Area United Methodist Camping ministry are about creating lifelong, life-changing memories for young people in a safe, fun, and caring environment.

Children (as well as adults at some camps) enjoy singing camp songs, sensing the sounds, sights, and smells of nature, creating new friendships, and discovering an ever-greater love for God in their hearts. Your child will grow in self-confidence, resourcefulness, and gratefulness as they encounter a spiritual awakening that will unfold over a lifetime. A variety of awesome, outdoors activities are available from archery to water sports. There also featured camps for adults, including adults with special needs.

Retreats & Events

Whether you want to host your own retreat or special event or attend one of our professionally staffed programs, our facilities offer comfortable hotel-style accommodations, group dorms as well as more rustic cabin experiences. Weddings, youth retreats, church retreats, crafting events, family reunions, school/club/business events and more can be held at our facilities. Please inquire about availability with each location.

RV & Tent Camping

Individuals, families and groups are welcome to our campgrounds. Churches, youth, family reunions, scouts, sports teams and more enjoy fellowship at our beautiful, clean recreation areas. Splash at the beach, go fishing or just watch the sunset over the lake. Take time away with your family and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation in a faith environment that is safe and family friendly.
